Er ist der Arzt, der als &#8222;Vater der modernen Medizin&#8220; gilt und durch den der Begriff &#8222;Hippokratischer Eid&#8220; f\u00fcr \u00c4rzte entstand. Nach der Blumeninsel Madeira, ist nun die bei vielen im Sommer beliebte, griechische Insel Kos die n\u00e4chste Destination. Kos ist die drittgr\u00f6\u00dfte Dodekanes-Insel in der \u00c4g\u00e4is, nach Rhodos und Karpathos. Zwischen dem Dikeos-Massiv im Osten und dem Berg Latra im S\u00fcdwesten, liegt an der wohl breitesten Stelle der Insel, der Flughafen Kos &#8211; Ippokratis, im Dorf Antimachia.<br><br>Im vergangenen Jahr fertigte der Airport ca. 3,1 Mio. Passagiere ab, davon waren mit Abstand die meisten, Urlauber aus Gro\u00dfbritannien und Deutschland. Im Jahr 2021 wurde das Terminal grundrenoviert und um einen Neubau erg\u00e4nzt. Als ikonisch gilt die kleine orthodoxe Kirche, welche den Apron trennt. Die 2.390m lange Piste liegt auf einem kleinen &#8222;Plateau&#8220;, welchem im S\u00fcden mehrere kleinere H\u00fcgel und ein Tal zum Meer hin und den Hotels des Hafenortes Kardamena anschlie\u00dfen.
